Coyote In A Graveyard ROCK OPERA ALBUM

$12.88

Coyote In A Graveyard is the 1984 rock opera written by Richard Del Connor “The Hippy Coyote” that became a nightclub favorite of Michael J. Fox, was optioned by New World Pictures to be a rock opera movie.  Richard Del Connor was completing the soundtrack in 1989 and here are some of the rough mixes from the not-yet-completed rock opera album.  Lori Aguilar is performing the vocals of Elaine’s Mother.  Richard Del Connor is the singing voice of Thumper, Elaine’s Father, and Elaine’s Boyfriend.

This ROCK OPERA, Coyote In A Graveyard, was written and performed in 1984.  In 1985 Michael J. Fox joined us onstage.  When he found out New World Pictures was creating a screenplay and movie for it, Michael wanted the lead role of Thumper.  He said he had another movie to make first, “Bright Lights Big City…”

This is the original album produced by Richard Del Connor and was being completed in 1989.  The basic tracks were recorded at Cherokee Studios, Hollywood, California.  Mixing was being done at Soundcastle Studios, Los Angeles, California.

This rock opera was optioned by New World Pictures who hired Richard Del Connor “The Hippy Coyote” to record the rock opera soundtrack so they could make the movie musical rock opera in 1986.  Unfortunately, New World Pictures abandoned all movie projects in 1987 with the advent of HBO movies and decided to only release television and cable projects.  So Richard Del Connor got the entire Coyote In A Graveyard movie project returned to him in “turnaround.”

So Richard Del Connor decided to release the soundtrack without a movie on his Shaolin Records label and produced the album in Cherokee Studios Hollywood and several other studios.

The album was almost completed in 1989 when Richard’s girlfriend Michelle got pregnant.  Although she miscarried they decided to get married and do it on purpose.  This resulted in the birth of Caitlin O’Connor in 1991 and the destruction of Shaolin Records when Michelle convinced Richard to move the family to Salt Lake City, Utah where she could guarantee the “financial success of Shaolin Records” with her connections and family there.

The Coyote In A Graveyard soundtrack album was almost completed before this move and was never released.  This album package is missing several of the songs that we need to mix-down from 2″ magnetic tape masters.
